
Colombia (May 14-27, 2022)
The two-week ERGI Academy program, funded by the Bureau of Energy Resources of the US Department of State, consisted of two-day short courses in six specific topical areas and a visit to a copper/gold mine in Nevada. The program started with a general overview of the energy mineral mining, followed by presentations on topical areas, such as mineral leasing and licensing, mine reclamation and environmental management, mine health and safety standards, social licensing to operate, international standards of resource and reserve reporting and geographic information system. The presentations on each topic were made by faculty experts from UNR’s Mackay School and known experts from industry.

Brazil (June 5-18, 2022)

Philippines (June 26-July 9, 2022)
The two-week ERGI Academy program funded by the Australian Government consisted of short courses in nine specific topical areas and a visit to a gold mine in Nevada. The program started with a general overview of energy mineral mining, followed by presentation on topical areas, such as mineral leasing and licensing, mining workforce development, fiscal terms and contracts, geographic information system, international standards of resource and reserve reporting, data acquisition and management, mine reclamation and environmental management, social licensing to operate and mine life cycle analysis. The presentations on each topic were made by faculty experts from UNR and known experts from industry.
